Uplift Plus Scholarship Screening Orientation Seminars: Opening Opportunities For Potential Scholars

With God’s grace and guidance, UPLIFT Cares remains steadfast in its goal of transforming the lives of underprivileged Senior High School and college students towards servant-leadership. The organization walks alongside their dreams of finishing their studies though providing them with

scholarships, along with discipleship support.

To further familiarize the applicants (potential scholars) with the scholarship program, our Uplift Plus Scholarship Team held various Scholarship Screening Orientation seminars at the CCF Center. First-time applicants for Academic Year 2026-2027, together with existing scholars reapplying for the upcoming academic year, attended one of these seminars. Applicants from the Greater Manila Area attended onsite, while those residing in provincial areas joined online – a testimony to how God continues to expand the reach and accessibility of the program.

Each applicant received an endorsement by one of Uplift Plus’ partner communities, which include certain CCF ministries (such as Elevate and Hope & Home).

Orientation Proper

Each seminar opened with a presentation about UPLIFT Cares and its mission, anchored in its God-given calling of transforming communities one family at a time. The organization’s logo represents its core areas of impact – health, education, livelihood, and personal growth – with each area reflecting God’s provision for the holistic growth of its beneficiaries.

At the heart of the Uplift Plus scholarship program is fostering committed, competent, and Christlike servant-leaders.

Scholars, accepted into the scholarship program, receive tuition assistance and/or allowances. Scholars re-apply for the scholarship program every academic year, and all scholarship grants are performance-based.

Aside from academic excellence, Uplift Plus also focuses on CHRISTLIKENESS and SPIRITUAL GROWTH through active participation in CCF discipleship groups, attend one of weekly CCF worship services, and submission of weekly reflections based on CCF worship messages.

The family is also seen as an essential part of each scholar’s journey. His or her family members are encouraged to attend CCF worship services, respond to his or her weekly reflections, and support his or her spiritual and personal growth, fostering a Christ-centered foundation at home.

Existing Scholars’ Stories Of Growth, Hope

For existing scholars, the orientation served not only as a requirement but also as a witness to God’s faithfulness in their lives.

Jericho, a third year Criminology student from ICCT Colleges - Cainta, shared in an interview how the seminar deepened his understanding of servant-leadership.

“One of my key insights from the seminar is that I have a lot to learn in making disciples. What stood out to me the most is that if a person can be trusted with a small thing, of course, he will be more trusted with a greater thing,” Jericho said in Filipino.

As he is reapplying for the upcoming academic year, Jericho reflects on how God has been faithful in his every season, strengthening his faith and deepening his relationship with his family.

“For every year that has passed, I made it through God’s help. My family has been blessed even more. If I can do it, you can do it too. Let’s give our best for ourselves, for our families, and for the Lord,” Jericho advised his fellow youth.

As the applicants proceeded with their application journey, they were stepping into more than just a scholarship program, they were drawing closer to an opportunity for real life transformation. Through faith, guidance, and loving support, UPLIFT Cares continues to open its doors for underprivileged scholars to reach a future filled with hope, purpose, and hearts dedicated to glorifying God.
