Uplift Cares Presents Its ‘H.E.L.P’ Program At CCF L.A.W. Ministry Forum

How fruitful it was to share how we are serving God through our mission, vision, and initiatives in nurturing underprivileged families – with a wider audience!

UPLIFT Cares presented its “H.E.L.P.” program, which ministers to beneficiaries’ needs in health, education, livelihood, and personal growth, during CCF L.A.W. Ministry’s forum on taxation. The event took place at the ground floor lobby of Life Academy International (LAI) Building, located at the CCF Center in Pasig City, in the afternoon of March 14, 2026.

At this forum, speakers discussed with the audience some relevant information regarding taxation, tackling principles of taxation and compliance, tax avoidance versus tax evasion, and cases and examples of donations to organizations. During a talk by CCF Executive Pastor Ricky Sarthou, the attendees received encouragement to place their faith in Jesus.

CCF L.A.W. Ministry invited UPLIFT Cares to deliver a message about its program in the event, because the latter is certified by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as a donee institution, where all monetary and in-kind donations are 100 percent tax deductible. UPLIFT Cares’ qualifications are: being a non-stock, non-profit organization; being registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC); being accredited by the Philippine Council for NGO Certification (PCNC) and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD); and operating on a charity and educational purpose.

UPLIFT Cares is a good works ministry of CCF.

During a portion on donee institutions at CCF L.A.W. Ministry Head Atty. Robert Samarita’s talk, UPLIFT Cares Communications Director Nikki Miller talked about the organization’s mission, vision, and its “H.E.L.P.” program in transforming communities one family at a time, in front of the audience. The attendees learned more about how the organization is bringing holistic growth to more underprivileged families through Jesus.

“We offer free Junior High School completion through Alternative Learning System, or more commonly known as ALS, and scholarship opportunities for underprivileged youth throughout Senior High School and College,” Miller said.

From 2012 to 2025, UPLIFT Cares helped 3,866 out-of-school individuals complete Junior High School through ALS.

The organization’s Uplift Plus Servant-Leadership Scholarship Program nurtures 216 scholars studying in Senior High School and College, as of this writing. The program has fostered a total of 133 Senior High School graduates, along with 27 College graduates.

“What makes UPLIFT Cares different from other institutions that offer scholarships, incentives, [and others] is that our focus is beyond academic excellence,” Miller added.

Miller said that the organization focuses more on discipleship and values formation, with beneficiaries placed in small groups (more commonly known as “discipleship groups”).

“Education is very, very important in helping families have a chance of escaping poverty,” she added.

In the middle of the presentation, attendees were inspired through watching a two-minute testimony video of Cristina Esmeralda, once an out-of-school youth who became an UPLIFT Cares beneficiary for seven years. She was born into a large family with 10 siblings. Her father worked as a farmer, while her mother is a housewife.

Eventually, she enrolled in UPLIFT Cares’ ALS program. Here, she embraced the encouragement to cultivate her faith in God, as each class day began with a devotion. After she completed ALS in 2018, she was chosen as an Uplift Plus scholar. Nowadays, her entire family has already been baptized. She is now giving back by working at UPLIFT Cares full-time, as an Instructional Mentor.

Through its “H.E.L.P.” program, UPLIFT Cares is able to bring families closer to Jesus.
