Our beneficiaries’ transformation journey took a meaningful leap forward as they participated in the two fruitful events led by renowned Christian artist Jeremy Camp!

On June 19, Jeremy and his team, through his non-profit organization Speaking Louder Ministries, held a special community outreach at CCF Taytay for UPLIFT Cares scholars and their families. The day was filled with worship, testimonies, and Gospel truth.

Beginning Of Community Outreach

Marking the start of the community outreach was an opening prayer by CCF Taytay Lead Overseer Bro. Don Sandico.

Shortly afterwards, Jeremy went on stage. He first expressed his appreciation for the hospitality and joy expressed by the attendees.

Jeremy then performed several worship songs and shared a deeply personal message – reminding everyone that God sees each of them individually, loves them deeply, and is greater than any pain that we experience in life.

Reflecting on the loss of his first wife to cancer in 2001, Jeremy testified to God’s faithfulness through life’s hardest seasons. “Today, if you’ve had a loss or had pain you’re going through… God is near you right now,” Jeremy said, adding that God loves us that much.

Looking back at his real-life hardships and struggles, he encouraged the audience to view the “stones of remembrance” in their lives where God did something great for them. Jeremy said that God is restoring his life in beautiful ways, having been blessed with a wife and three children. Adding to this, he travels the world and shares what God has done.

Jeremy then introduced his good friend for several years now, Speaking Louder Ministries’ Director Danny Williamson, to the audience.

Main Devotion

Danny delivered his devotion on walking with God. He opened with a word of prayer; then read Psalm 116:5-9, which speaks about God being gracious, righteous, and full of compassion.

“God has invited each of us individually to walk with Him,” he said.

Danny dedicated his life to Jesus when he heard the Gospel at 17 years old. Since then, his life has never been the same.

He called Jesus as our greatest “Rabbi.” He told the audience that in our walk with God, we are to be in awe of the wonder of how great He really is.

Danny then shared regarding the message found in John 10:10. This verse states that the thief comes only to steal, kill, and destroy; but Jesus came to give us an abundant life.

“When we walk with God, we walk in the light. Light is good, light is pure… We need to walk hand-in-hand with the King of the universe,” Danny said.

He said that nothing compares to the love of God, which is pure and unconditional. He then encouraged the audience to walk a little closer to Him.

Danny’s eldest son came up on stage and recited his work of poetry describing the love of God. Danny then ended his devotion with a prayer.

A handful of scholars shared the insights from the devotion that struck them the most. An UPLIFT Cares scholar said that God is always guiding us, and His love is always with us. A fellow UPLIFT Cares scholar, meanwhile, said that God’s love is eternal, and as Christians, we have a mission of spreading His love.

Presentation Of UPLIFT Cares’ Programs

To give context to our ongoing work in the community, UPLIFT Cares Community Development Head Jeff Castillo shared how the foundation serves underprivileged families by ministering to their holistic growth – spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

“We praise God for Jeremy Camp and his team, for allowing us to be a partner in reaching out to more youth and individuals who need help in terms of education and their personal relationship with Jesus,” Castillo said.

He began his presentation with discussing UPLIFT Cares’ mission and vision in transforming communities, one family at a time.

Castillo then tackled the educational support that UPLIFT Cares offers to out-of-school and underprivileged individuals ages 16 and above, through our Alternative Learning System (ALS) program and Uplift Plus Scholarship Program for underprivileged Senior High School and College students. Our end goal is to foster servant-leader graduates with career options.

UPLIFT Cares also conducts community building initiatives, which began in 2023 with the Angono community in Rizal. UPLIFT Cares leads health seminars and medical missions (health); opens doors to life opportunities through ALS and Uplift Plus (education); provides skills training and small business opportunities (livelihood); and fosters discipleship and house fellowships to reach more people for Jesus (personal growth).

More low-income families in Payatas, Quezon City are experiencing the light of hope through the GoViral Program, which fosters the rapid reproduction of house fellowships and community churches. UPLIFT Cares plans to implement GoViral in the whole Luzon.

UPLIFT Cares Scholar’s Testimony

John Paolo Duero, a graduating UPLIFT Cares scholar taking up business administration, shared a heartfelt testimony on persevering in his education in spite of life’s challenges.

Duero is the eldest child in their family. His mother runs a small store, which serves as their main source of income.

After the sudden passing of his father due to a heart attack in 2020, he had to pause his studies and work full-time to support his family.

“His death was a devastating loss, [and] made our already difficult life even harder, especially for my mom,” he said.

To make ends meet, Duero worked at a fast-food restaurant for two years. At one point, he also worked at a computer shop in the morning to support his mother. But in spite of his grueling schedule, his desire to continue and finish his studies grew even stronger.

Duero learned about our Uplift Plus Scholarship Program from a family friend, and applied. By God’s grace, he got accepted. He said that becoming a scholar has brought tremendous impact in his life.

In his scholarship journey, he has experienced spiritual transformation, with his faith in God deepened. His cherished dream is to work in a marketing company and build his own business someday. “God’s grace will always find a way,” he ended.

Later Segments Of Community Outreach

After Duero’s testimony, a group of scholars showcased their God-given talent on stage as they danced to the upbeat Filipino praise song, “Permanente” by Papuri!

UPLIFT Cares Chief Operating Officer Pastor Ito de Jesus expressed his heartfelt thanksgiving on stage to Jeremy Camp, Danny and the rest of their team, along with CCF Media, for meeting our beneficiaries through the community outreach.

Together with Jeremy and his team, the attendees enjoyed a group photo opportunity. Each scholar who attended the outreach received a gift bag filled with food items along with a Bible copy, personally handed out by Jeremy and his team – leaving lasting smiles and memories of God’s generosity.

UPLIFT Cares ALS Program Director Denny Dinsay uttered the event’s closing prayer. The attendees enjoyed a food fellowship, building closer relationships with one another before heading back home.

UPLIFT Cares scholars Pollyn Joicelle Ibañez and Mark Lenard Villanueva served as the hosts of the community outreach.

Alicia, a fellow scholar now in her second year of college, shared how deeply grateful she was to have been part of the event. The community outreach served as a way for her to draw closer to Jesus, further opening her eyes to walking in His light and bringing the light in the right way.

Jeremy Camp Evangelistic Concert At CCF Center

Just two days later, on June 21, some UPLIFT Cares’ beneficiaries were able to attend Jeremy Camp’s evangelistic concert at the CCF Center, thanks to fully sponsored tickets provided by CCF Media. UPLIFT Cares was honored to be chosen as the concert’s main beneficiary.

That night, Jeremy delivered a Christ-centered performance, singing over 20 songs, most of which were his original compositions inspired by his personal walk with Jesus.

Performing as the front acts during the concert were Gloryfall, which produces Filipino worship music and serves through worship leading; and CCF Exalt Worship, which played all-original songs such as “Anchor Of Our Lives,” “By Your Love,” and “One God.”

In between these worship bands, the audience watched UPLIFT Cares’ promotional videos featuring Angela Tangco, an UPLIFT Cares scholar; and Danilo Pamilacan, an UPLIFT Cares ALS completer. (You may watch these videos at https://www.youtube.com/@upliftcares)

Danny Williamson introduced Jeremy Camp to the audience. But before Jeremy and his band took the stage, UPLIFT Cares’ promotional videos featuring UPLIFT Cares scholars Retchel Bohol and Jericho Castro, as well as our 6th Moving Up Ceremony and Recognition Day held in 2024, appeared.

Jeremy appeared in front of the audience with his stage presence, singing “These Days” followed by “When You Speak” and “Out Of My Hands.” The next tracks that he performed were “Dead Man Walking,” “Closer To You,” “Christ In Me,” and “Graves Into Gardens” by Elevation Worship featuring Brandon Lake.

Jeremy revealed about the moments when God was speaking to him, and assured them that His grace is sufficient. He sang “Again,” “He Knows,” “There Will Be A Day,” and “Anxious Heart.”

A moment came when Jeremy opened up about the losing battle with cancer of his first wife, Melissa, who passed away in 2001. Jeremy performed “I Still Believe,” which was inspired by that sad chapter in his life. Among the other tracks that he sang that night were “Walk By Faith,” “Give Me Jesus,” “Overcome,” “No Survivors,” and “Keep Me In The Moment.”

In between songs, Jeremy shared key moments from his spiritual journey – stories of loss, healing, faith, and hope – that gave birth to many of the songs loved by Christians around the world. UPLIFT Cares’ beneficiaries who were present experienced the blessed opportunity to lift up their hearts and voices into worshipping God on that special night.

From the quiet moments of reflection during his outreach to the loud praise of the concert stage, he left a profound impact on every heart present. His faithfulness to use his platform to honor God inspired not only worship, but also a deeper longing in many to follow Jesus.

We praise God for partners such as Jeremy Camp, Speaking Louder Ministries, and CCF Media, for opening doors for our underprivileged beneficiaries to encounter Jesus in deeper ways!

Insights By Danny Williamson

In an interview with UPLIFT Cares, Danny Williamson shared that Jeremy Camp and the Speaking Louder team are passionate about strengthening communities through music, sharing the central message of the Gospel, and supporting organizations that actively invest in the next generation – young people who will become leaders and world changers.

“The outreach event was an incredible opportunity to connect, as the staff, volunteers, and beneficiaries were filled with hospitality, kindness, and Jesus-style love! The genuine smiles and joy coming from each person was something to behold,” Danny said.

Danny shared that it was such a joy spending time with UPLIFT Cares’ beneficiaries. “The Lord Jesus loves each of you greatly, and we are confident He will continue to lead each of you with kindness, love, grace, and truth,” he added.

To those who carry the passion to serve in a ministry, Danny advised them to make close connection with Jesus as their top goal in life. “Keep moving forward. Trust Jesus no matter what comes your way. He is always faithful and will always be present,” he added.

Indeed, through life-transforming gatherings like these, our beneficiaries are not only blessed, but are also beginning to embrace the truth of God’s goodness and faithfulness that continues to guide them in every season of their lives!
